The University of Georgia Press is known for publishing exceptional, award-winning books for scholars, students, and general readers throughout the world. Gifts to the Press support high-quality publications of enduring value. When you invest in the Press’s publishing program, you are helping to create a lasting legacy of knowledge and ideas for future generations.

Sponsor a Book

As a non-profit educational publisher, the Press publishes important, specialized works that cannot recover their costs through sales alone. Gifts and grants are needed to support the publication of scholarly titles to make them affordable for students and scholars. The Press also seeks support for individual books that require special editorial, production, or marketing costs. Gifts of $2,500-$25,000 may be designated to support such publications. Donors are recognized in the books’ opening pages

For a list of current titles in need of funding, please contact Chantel Dunham, Director of Development.

Endow a Named Press Director’s Position

A $1,000,000 endowed gift will provide a named directorship and will be a permanent source of funds that can be used to enhance the services and programs of the Press and to support initiatives or programs created by the Director.

Sponsor an Internship

The Press offers student internships in its Acquisitions, Editorial, Design, Production, and Marketing departments. These positions allow students to learn about both scholarly and trade book publishing and gain valuable on-the-job experience. Numerous Press interns have gone on to secure jobs at top publishing houses and with magazine publishers.

A gift of $3,000 gift annually will support a named internship. A gift of $100,000 would establish an endowment that would fund a named internship in perpetuity.

Contribute to our General Endowment

The Press seeks funding for a general endowment to permanently sustain its publishing program. Your gift to this fund will help us continue to publish exceptional, award-winning books for students, scholars, and general readers for many years to come.

We welcome gifts of all amounts.
