Elvin Stanton

ELVIN STANTON a native of Baldwin County, Alabama, was an honor graduate of the US Army Information School in Fort Slocumb, New York. Stanton went on to work as a journalist for United Press International and was a member of the Capitol Press Corps during the John Patterson administration. He later was named chief of staff for Governor George C. Wallace and served Wallace continuously for 26 years, longer than any other staff member, remaining with the governor until they both retired from state service.
